Sharon Twitty has served as the Executive Director of Alliance for Regional Collaboration to Heighten Educational Success (ARCHES) since 2016.  ARCHES is an initiative of the Intersegmental Coordinating Committee (ICC), the programmatic arm of the California Education Round Table. The mission of ARCHES is to support intersegmental, multi-sector regional collaboratives to eliminate the resource and opportunity gaps among student groups, boost student success, and facilitate college and career readiness. 

 

Sharon has over thirty years of experience in California K-12 education which includes being a classroom teacher and an administrator at site, district and county levels. She served for 15 years in a county office and eight years as the Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services and Public Affairs.  She has led several statewide initiatives for California including serving on state and federal educational advisory committees and serving as the chair of the California County Superintendent’s Educational Services Association Curriculum and Instruction Steering Committee. Sharon has a record of improving student achievement through sustainable collaboration, as demonstrated by the effectiveness and has been recognized as Administrator of the Year and has been published in ASCD’s publication Educational Leadership.
